Fletcher’s lecture will focus on the Richland Operations Office’s priorities for continuing the cleanup of the Hanford Site, explaining how their office,
with an annual budget of approximately $1 billion and multiple contractors under his oversight, continues to progress in their mission at the 580-square-mile Hanford Site while adhering to safe, environmentally acceptable and responsible management.

He will also discuss the Richland Operations Office’s priorities for the next several years.

Fletcher became Deputy Manager of the Richland Operations Office in December 2016. He has oversight of daily operations, program planning, project execution, budgeting, and compliance with the Hanford Federal Facility Agreement and Consent Order (Tri-Party Agreement).

With more than 20 years of experience managing nuclear operations, construction, deactivation and demolition, and environmental remediation projects, Fletcher was previously Assistant Manager at the Office of River Protection for Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant Start-Up, Commissioning, and Integration; responsible for engineering, procurement, construction, nuclear safety, hazardous waste management,
and operations of the Hanford tank farms.

Prior to coming to Hanford, he served at the U.S. Department of Army Corps of Engineers Walla Walla District as a co-lead for the Richland Operations Life Cycle Cost Baseline, the foundation for the $3 billion Mission Support Contract and $7 billion Plateau Remediation Contract.

Fletcher holds bachelors and masters degrees in civil engineering from Washington State University, and is a registered professional engineer in Washington and a certified project management professional through the Project Management Institute.
