Advising and Mentoring

MARC students are advised and mentored by a research mentor, graduate students, the principal investigators of the MARC-WSU program, peers in the MARC-WSU program, and others from clubs, professional societies, etc.

The MARC-WSU program provides the support that students need to succeed. Mentoring can help with skill development, subject specific expertise, goal setting and career guidance. MARC-WSU trainees develop multiple mentoring relationships in the program. Each trainee works with graduate students, their research mentor, the MARC principle investigators (PIs), and their MARC-WSU peers. Trainees develop additional professional and mentoring relationships through other interactions such as within clubs or through professional societies.
