SUMMARY:Summer Undergraduate Research Programming
DESCRIPTION:Each summer\, dozens of undergraduate researchers in STEM disciplines come to WSU Pullman to participate in projects with leading WSU faculty researchers. The students come from many colleges across the U.S.—some are even from WSU! For about 10 weeks\, they work in labs\, on field assignments\, and with teammates on fascinating\, important research with their mentors. Many summer research projects are federally funded\, including some NSF-supported Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU)\, while others may be supported by professors’ own grants. In addition to their research\, the students get to experience the “Palouse region” of the country where WSU Pullman is located\, attend Summer Undergraduate Research Program weekly events\, and have fun with fellow researchers. On the final Friday of their time in Pullman\, the students share their work at a public poster event called the Summer Undergraduate Research Symposium—this year set for Aug. 4 in the CUE Atrium. The WSU Office of Undergraduate Research helps to coordinate activities and support the learning experiences throughout the summer.

SUMMARY:URClub: CISER Information and Presentation on Research Positions
DESCRIPTION:The Center for Interdisciplinary Statistical Education and Research (CISER) is a group that works with those interested in promoting quality statistical research. CISER seeks to recruit new undergraduates to participate. \nCISER\, for example\, helps WSU colleges (and the broader community) by offering “engaged learning” hours to improve general understanding of statistical methods and techniques by working closely with a statistician on problems related to research\, and to improve the quality of statistical analyses in WSU proposals\, projects\, and papers. CISER provides for the greater community independent and joint data analysis\, algorithm development for continuous results\, design of interactive visual mapping and analysis\, and many more dynamic resources upon request. \nLearn more from CISER experts at this Undergraduate Research Club meeting. SUMMARY:Virtual STEM Recruitment Fair with 25 U.S. DOE Sponsored Programs
DESCRIPTION:The Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) will be hosting a virtual recruitment fair that will showcase more than 25 programs all sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). The programs featured take place across the DOE complex including headquarters\, laboratories\, field offices\, and more\, and many of them involve paid STEM internships intended for undergraduate students. During the fair\, you will be able to chat with recruiters and scientists\, and virtually explore booths representing programs in energy-related research\, policy and technology. \nYou can register for and attend the Virtual Recruitment Fair at the 6Connex website that will host the event.
