Posted 11-17-09: The Institute for Broadening Participation lists a number of summer research opportunities funded by the NSF and others, for undergraduates, graduate students, and post-docs.


Posted 11-16-09:  Applications are due Jan. 8, 2010 for the Naval Research Enterprise Internship Program, part of the American Society for Engineering Education.  This 10-week summer research opportunity for undergrad juniors and seniors and graduate students is a paid opportunity.


Posted 11-5-09:  Applications are open for Posters on the Hill presentations , sponsored by the Council for Undergraduate Research (CUR); this competitive event allows students to present their research to the nation's legislators in April 2010 in Washington, D.C.  Deadline is Nov. 10


Posted 10-21-09:  Undergraduate researchers are invited by the Council of Undergraduate Research (CUR) to post professional information online to promote matchmaking opportunities between these future graduate students and graduate schools.


Posted 10-13-09:  Applications, Deadlines for NASA Opportunities for College Students include information for "NASA Undergraduate Student Research Project for Spring and Summer 2010 Sessions," "2009 NASA Postdoctoral Program," "2010 RASC-AL Competition for College Students," "National Space Biomedical Research Institute's" Graduate Education Program in Space Life Sciences and the NSBRI Summer Internship Program.  Several websites and contact information are available in the memo.


Posted: 9-21-09  Multicultural Student Services and the School of Molecular Biosciences are hosting the fall 2009 "Inspiring a New Generation of Scholars and Scientists Workshop Series" on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 4:10 p.m. in CUB 406.


Posted: 9-3-09:  NASA Aeronautics Scholarship Program is accepting applications from Sept. 1 through Jan. 11, 2010 for 2-year awards for undergraduates pursuing aeronautical engineering and related fields such as mechnical and chemical engineering, physics, and mathematics.  The program is administered by the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE).  


Posted: 8-4-09:  Scholarships are available to attend the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) Conference 10/31-11/2 at Walt Disney World in Florida . Sponsors are HACU and the U.S. Dept. of the Interior's Geological Survey and Minerals Management Service . Opportunities to meet with representatives and scientists from numerous fields.
