Scholastic Honorary is WSU Tradition
The Phi Beta Kappa Society (PBK) is the nation's oldest academic honor society, established to promote scholarship and friends among students and graduates of American colleges and universities. Only about 15 percent of the institutions of higher education in the U.S. have programs sufficiently strong in the sciences and liberal arts to warrant membership.
The Gamma Chapter of PBK at WSU was established in 1928, making it one of the first chapters founded at a land-grant university.
